KMatters Celebrates Christmas 2016

On December 17, 2016 the KMatters family celebrated Christmas by sharing joy, fun and laughter with our beloved patients and hardworking staff.  The night was filled with delicious food, fun games, a load of prizes, entertaining staff presentations and line dancing.

During this Annual Christmas Celebration, we gave recognition to our staff who gave exemplary service to our patients through out the year.  Winning awards for outstanding service were Mr. Joric Silverio and Ms. Vanessa Jane Diaz; while best patient care awardees were Ms. Abby Gertrude Sangueza, RN and Ms. Abegail Lachaona, RN.  Our employee of the year silver awardee was Ms. Rachelle Palomo, RMT and employee of the year gold awardee was Ms. Rachelle Pescasio, RN.  KMatters is truly blessed to have such dedicated, dynamic staff who genuinely care about providing quality, compassionate service to our patients and patrons.

Sponsors of the event include DialMed, BBraun, Goodfellow, Roche, Leo Pharma and Singapore Diagnostics.  Thank you for your generosity this yuletide season.

Lastly, let us remember the true reason for the season.  A Savior was born in a humble manger, and would grow to be a man of compassion, conviction and courage.  As we thank the Good Lord for all His blessings, let us try to emulate the values of Christ and be saviors in our own little way for our patients, friends and family.

KMatters Gives Back – Discounted Rates for Dialysis for Dec 2016

kmtdc-spec-offKMatters Taguig Dialysis & Diagnostic Center will be offering special discounted rates for dialysis treatments for their regular hemodialysis patients with good standing for December 2016.  This is our way of celebrating the holiday season – by giving back and helping the patients who have entrusted their health care to KMatters.

The last months of the year are particularly challenging for dialysis patients because after consuming their annual PHIC benefits, patients start paying for dialysis treatments out of their own pockets.  In an effort to ease some of the burden of these expenses, KMatters organizes fund raising activities through out the year.  Funds raised will be used to subsidize dialysis treatments, allowing KMatters to lower the cost of dialysis treatments for the entire month of December 2016 for its loyal patrons.

KMatters is grateful to those who continue supporting their fundraising efforts every year. A heartfelt thank you to all for helping us pay it forward.  Happy holidays!

You Are Not Alone – DOH launches HOPELINE

hope-2Remember, you are not alone.

In times of sadness or depression, find strength by reaching out for help.  Call the DOH Hopeline (02) 804-HOPE (804-4673) or 0917-558-HOPE (0917-5584673) or 2919 toll free for Globe and TM subscribers.

The HOPELINE project is an initiative of the Department of Health to provide phone-based counselling services available 24/7 to anyone experiencing crisis and depression.  A trained psychologist or psychiatrist will respond and provide professional aid to those in need.

In 2012, an estimated 2,558 Filipino lives were lost to suicide.  There is not only loss of life, but also a ripple effect for those who have been bereaved or have been close to someone who has tried to take his or her life.  Unfortunately, in our country there remains to be a lot of stigma attached to mental health and suicide.

Having suicidal thoughts is nothing to be ashamed of.  No one is to be blamed for that.  We all go through various challenges in life – losing a loved one, battling an illness, financial crisis and many more.  Remember, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.  Never give up.  Have Faith – things will get better as you take it one step at a time, one day at a time.  Reach out to friends, family, mentors and loved ones for support.  Call the HOPELINE if you feel your back is against the wall.  There will always be someone who cares; someone who will listen and guide you.

Together, we can help prevent suicide.  Last September 10, 2016 we celebrated World Suicide Prevention Day with the theme – “Connect, communicate and care”.  Let’s do just that – make everyone feel connected, not alone; communicate with kindness and compassion; and show people that we care about their lives.

Remember, you are not alone.
